About Marissa Barrera
Some fights choose you.
In 2017, my brother, Michael Barrera, was murdered by police. That moment shattered everything, but it also set something in motion. Since that day, I’ve dedicated my life to exposing corruption, demanding accountability, and making sure families like mine are never silenced.
I am not just telling stories—I am on the frontlines, confronting injustice, uncovering the truth, and fighting for real change.
Through investigative journalism, advocacy, and community action, I work to bring attention to the cases that mainstream media ignores. I have traveled across the country to stand with impacted families, organize movements, and challenge the systems that allow police violence to continue.
But justice is not just about fighting—it’s about empowerment, resilience, and taking care of ourselves in the process. That’s why I also focus on fitness, strength, and self-care as a form of resistance. I balance being a mother, an activist, and a wellness advocate, because I refuse to let this system take anything more from me.
My Work Includes:
Uncovering Truth & Police Corruption – Investigative reports & exposing systemic abuses.
Uplifting Impacted Families – Making sure their stories are heard and not erased.
Strength & Resilience – Fitness, wellness, and self-care as tools for long-term resistance.Get Involved – This Fight Needs You
Justice doesn’t come easy, and it doesn’t come without a fight. But when we stand together, we refuse to be erased. If you're here, it’s because you care. So take action. Share the truth. Support the movement. Stand for something real.
